After the rain, comes the sun! Today we are so excited to finally share the rest of the photos from Amy & Craig's wedding along the shores of O'ahu. Following an unexpected storm and power outage during their reception, it's safe to say the couple was rewarded with this absolutely breathtaking backdrop at sunset. The extremely talented photographer, Erin Paris captured the stunning Hawaiian landscape as well as our stunning bride Amy in HB6565 so magically and we are so very grateful to share her work with you all! Congratulations again to Amy & Craig, we wish you all the very best~
Every once in a while, we come across a wedding that overwhelms us with it's beauty. There are so many amazing shots from Amy & Craig's wedding in Hawaii that we decided to share them in two parts! The couple was married at Sunset Ranch in Haleiwa, O'ahu and we absolutely love the way they made the best of the unexpected rain that day. The umbrellas during the ceremony, and rainbow afterwards make it all the more special! An incredibly huge thank you to Erin Paris for capturing it all! Amy (who looks flawlessly elegant in HB6565) also shared with us one of the more special moments of the day, during her and Craig's first dance. She said, "Our reception was in a barn and there was actually a big storm that night and the power went out for a few hours after dinner was served. Because of this, we had our first dance on the dance floor lit by our guests' cell phones and Craig's mom led them in singing "You are my sunshine" since we had no power for the speakers to play music. We couldn't use a phone to play the song because the sound would be drowned out by the pouring rain. Amazingly, one of our guests had just purchased a guitar that day and had it in his car, so he ran out and got it and played a few songs for us, while one of Craig's groomsmen sang." Although the photos of this moment are romantic themselves, Amy sent us the video and it truly gave us the chills. Make sure to scroll down to see it play out and check with us next week for the rest of the breathtaking shots Amy and Craig took through the Hawaiian sunset!

We are so very lucky to connect with talented professionals from all over the world. Today our friends at Tausendschoen Photography transport us to Germany with this dreamy, wintry photoshoot featuring our AH6200 dress. The way the snowy setting reflects the light is such an amazing complement to the weightless organza skirt. Special thanks to our retailer Perera Rusche for making it all possible!
DL6055 is such a uniquely special dress. Glass beads are hand beaded over a delicate scalloped motif to give it the most gentle sparkle when hit by the light. In this shoot outside a California casista, the extremely talented, Alexandra Wallace highlights the sleek silhouette and the subtle elegance of DL6055 but also the breathtaking hillside landscape. Thank you so much for this stunning set of images and providing such beautiful inspiration for modern brides-to-be!
We love collaborating with vendors to create styled shoots for inspiration. When the art of so many talented professionals come together, the result is truly spectacular. Today we're excited to share a stylized shoot at the picturesque Oatlands historic mansion in Leesburg, Virginia. We love the elegant styling of HB6979 in black from our bridesmaids collection and the truly romantic ceremony setting. Thank you again to everyone who took part, especially Lissa Ryan Photography for capturing and sharing all of these amazing shots!

She is truly stunning in HB6622 at her beach wedding in Cape Haze, Florida. Mallory said, "I wanted our wedding to be straight forward, simple and gorgeous." It's safe to say her mission was accomplished and far exceeded with each of these photos being more breathtaking than the last. Thank you so much to Villetto Photography for sharing! Congratulations again to Mallory & Justin, we wish you all the very best~ Saja: How did you meet? Mallory: Justin and I went to high school together. He was friends with my best friends older brother. We did not like each other AT ALL! We reconnected 7 years later on Facebook and started chatting. We had our "first date" watching basketball and chatting and we have been together ever since! Saja: How did he propose? Mallory: We had been together just over four years when Justin decided to propose. He waited until I went out of town to head up to Boston to custom design a ring for me. His mother drove the ring down from Boston to give it to him. He planned to get a limo and take me out to a nice dinner, but once he had the ring he just couldn't wait. He picked me up from work one day and brought me to the beach. I am a beach-aholic so it didn't raise any red flags. He got down on one knee while I was sitting on a jetty and told me he wanted to make me happy for the rest of our lives and asked me to marry him. It was just the two of us and it was absolutely perfect. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Mallory: Our wedding took place at Palm Island Resort in Cape Haze, Florida. I have been going there since I was a little girl. It is gorgeous, relaxed and perfect. When we got engaged we knew it was the place! Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Mallory: My favorite photo is the one of us in the dunes at sunset. It captures everything that was perfect about our day and our love for each other. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day?
Mallory: My favorite part of the day was how much fun all of our guests had. Watching all of our hard work pay off with smiles on their faces meant so much, all we wanted was for our guests to be as happy as we were on our wedding day. I do have to say though that my Saja wedding dress was right up there. I was so insanely comfortable, I could move, I wasn't too hot and I looked beautiful, it was perfect. We're starting out the week with these amazing photos from Rui & Varian's wedding. Although we never met her in person, we spent some time getting to know Rui via FaceTime and absolutely love seeing how beautifully she looks in HB6899 for her special day! Her laid back ceremony is quaint and full of love, and we love the way the groom matches the decor! Thank you so much to Xinning from Ivan Tan Photography and many, many congratulations to Rui & Varian!! Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Rui: The getting ready together in the hotel room - being both cosy and euphoric together – Var putting flowers in my hair, my straightening his bowtie, elbowing each other and chuckling OMG ARE YOU READY?! And sneaking some sushi before we left so we wouldn’t faint during the ceremony. Saja: How did you meet? Rui: Varian and I are both alumni of Columbia University in NYC- he graduated from the engineering school in 2001 and I graduated from the college in 2010. Although we first met in 2006 before I left for New York, it was only after I moved back to Singapore in 2010 and he invited me to a Jose James gig at his bar that we started seeing each other seriously. Saja: How did he propose? Rui: He proposed late in the evening at Diner, in Brooklyn. We were on holiday last April, hanging out with old friends in New York. It was just about time for dessert when he left his seat across from me to sit beside me, and he took my hand and played with the ring on my left middle finger. Having had a couple of drinks and fearing he’d drop it in the restaurant, I was like “um give me back my ring!” to which he obliged, and for the next few moments I was wondering why the ring I now had on looked different and didn’t fit on the same finger – then I was like OHHH WOAH wait a minute and it dawned on me that he had just proposed. With his late grandmother’s ring! Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed? Rui: There was a big delay in the ring exchange! Instead of gently untying the knot holding the wedding bands together, Var somehow turned it into a dead knot instead. So the ceremony was suspended for what felt like an eternity while he unpicked the tangle, with gentle encouragement from the officiant. It was tense but absurdly hilarious at the same time. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Rui: The civil ceremony took place at Kilo Lounge in Singapore. We loved the laid back vibe and spaciousness of the venue, on the top floor of a converted industrial building outside the city centre, with views of water and lovely leafy trees. Also we just love the food at Kilo restaurant so the sister lounge was a natural choice. Part II of our wedding (the traditional banquet) is happening this October, in a giant tent on the lawn of a hilltop colonial building. Saja: Who are the vendors who brought your to special day to life? Rui: Our photographer is the lovely Xinning from Ivan Tan Photography, wedding bands and engagement ring are from Fairy’s Inc. Heartfelt thanks go to my dearest mom who gamely did all the flowers and my decoration committee of relatives/friends. Make-up was DIY, hair was a combination of help from from Kazuki at Kizuki+LIM and my very own groom. And a huge thank you as well to Yoo herself from Saja, who emergency FaceTimed me to make sure the dress fit as it should! Saja; Which of the photos is your favorite? Why? Rui: I like the photos where we are perched on a random steel barrier in front of an overgrown field. I love the greenery and the simplicity of sitting outside together in the breeze, just being happy. Saja: Anything else you would like to share with us?
Rui: I just want to share some great advice that a dear friend gave me: “Everything goes by really, really fast. So don't spend any second being critical or worried about stuff. No one will notice that the tablecloth is crooked. This is one of those moments in life to let yourself just be and enjoy. Every once in a while, take a breath to just step back to watch the room. It will be full of so many of the most important people in your life, and they will have all come out just to share this moment with you. How amazing is that?!! You are loved. Bask in that, and celebrate it with the ones you love.” |
