Natalie and Alex met through mutual friends on a rock climbing trip in Kentucky. Years later he proposed to her on the summit of Mount Habrich overlooking Squamish, after a day of hiking. The wedding took place at a rustic log cabin property in Pemberton, British Columbia called the Old Vineyard. The couple chose the location for its simplicity and beauty, which think perfectly complement that of HB6622. Natalie said her favorite part of the day was the ceremony, overflowing with love and laughter, followed at a close second by when a black bear decided to show up! She said, "My favorite photos are the one of us under the arch during the ceremony, and the one of us walking back down the aisle post-ceremony, you can see the happiness in both of our faces." We are so happy to have these photos taken by the couple's friends and wish Natalie and Alex many congratulations!

Sometimes, a wedding comes along that summarizes what it’s all about: a celebration of life, shared with the loved ones. Meryl sent her wedding pictures to us and we are just blown away. It leaves nothing to be desired. From the very moment we met her, Meryl simply embodied loveliness. Beauty is within and happiness is a choice and she reminded us of that. She also made us fall in love again with what we do; it’s a privilege to serve brides like her.
We will let these beautiful shots by Marc Gabor speak for themselves.... Lily and Evan's intimate Brooklyn wedding is so stylish and so very NYC. Lily was so incredibly lovely to work with and we love that her wedding day turned out so beautifully. A huge thank you to Chellise Michael Photography for the incredible images and many congratulations to this lovely couple~ Saja: How did you meet? Lily: Evan and I met online, through OK Cupid. On our first date we met at a bar called Abilene. The moment I saw him and he smiled at me, I felt as though any worries or doubts washed away. We ended up talking late into the evening and at the end of the night I remember thinking that I could keep talking to him forever. Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why? Lily: It's hard to pick, but I have two favorites: The first is this soft and romantic photo with the darker background. I think my dress looks exceptionally beautiful. The others are the ones taken immediately after our ceremony; the look of joy on Evan's face is fantastic! Saja: How did Evan propose? Lily: We were on vacation in the French Alps. One day we packed a picnic (and a bottle of wine) and went on a hiked to a 17th century church on the top of a mountain, overlooking the beautiful Lake Annecy. Evan was acting a little strange -- wanting to find an especially romantic spot for us to eat -- but I didn't think much of it. After we finished eating we started talking about our future and what we hoped for out of life. Evan got down on his knee and proposed to me with my grandmother's vintage engagement ring that my parents had secretly given to him. I immediately said "Yes!" We ended up getting married exactly one year later, on the same date. Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed? Lily: We took photos at Abilene, the bar where we first met. It's only two blocks from Frankies. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Lily: The ceremony was incredibly moving for both of us and we had so much fun dancing at the after party, but I think my favorite moment happened immediately before the ceremony. We'd just done a quick rehearsal with our parents and readers and we needed to find a spot to hide out while we waited for the guests to arrive. There's a little bar directly across the street from Frankies where we hung out, just the two of us, for about 20 minute. We shared a flute of champagne and spied on all of our friends and family as they arrived at Frankies. The World Cup was on TV and everyone in the bar was cheering on their team and congratulating us. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?
Lily: I do event planning as part of my job, so I wanted to our wedding to be as stress-free as possible. We knew that we wanted to get married in Brooklyn, where we live, and we thought having the ceremony and reception at a restaurant was the way to go. Frankies Spuntino in Brooklyn has been a longtime favorite of ours for special occasions. Their back garden is so lovely that we didn't have to do any decorating other than bring in the gorgeous flowers that Nicolette Camille designed for us. Also, we knew that the food would be incredible and we're still getting compliments on it! After dinner we rented school buses to take everyone to Cantina Royal, a Mexican restaurant with a big private room that we rented out for a dance party. We made our own playlist and projected a video that Evan edited of our favorite dance scenes from movies and music videos. Our bride Cathy and her groom Michael make quite the stunning couple! We absolutely love the way her talented photographer, Kate Ann Morris, captured the light through the dreamy organza on AH6200. Congratulations to a lovely couple and thank you so much for the amazing images!
We always knew that Natasha was strikingly beautiful, but it's safe to say that her wedding photos blew us away! She looks flawlessly elegant in HB6633 and we love how she styled it with a decorative sash and soft romantic updo. Thank you so much to Moonrise Photography for the amazing shots of the bride, groom and breathtaking landscape. Congratulations again, Natasha!
Susanna and Rui's wedding is so elegant and unique. She looks absolutely gorgeous in HB6622, a perfect fit for her cool and modern space! Thanks so much to Carole Cohen for such great images!! Congratulations to this lovely couple~
Morgan's intimate elopement is so charming. She and her groom look so happy at their unique vintage-inspired getaway!
Thank you so much to Dana K Davis for capturing it for the rest of us!! Dominique's wedding alongside the St. Lawrence River is so full of love. She is absolutely radiant in the sheer scalloped neckline on AH6235, alongside her bridesmaids in Deep Fuchsia styles DU6574 and HB6631. What a joyous occasion, to be able to celebrate Dominique and her sister's pregnancy as well as a wedding all at once! Thanks so much to Mariane Baillargeon for capturing it all so beautifully! Saja: How did you meet? Dominique: Vincent and I met at a friend’s birthday party eleven years ago. I actually knew who he was because we had friends in common but we had never really hung out together before. We ended up chatting all night. He likes to say that that night it was love at first sight! Saja: How did he propose? Dominique: We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary while on vacation on the Italian Riviera. We had a nice romantic dinner overlooking the sea and afterwards we went strolling in the village. Once we got to the main square he stopped, took my hands into his and pulled a ring out of his pocket! He did not get down on his knees – he is not that traditional! – but he did ask for my father’s blessing before we left on vacation! Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Dominique: The wedding was in the charming village of Cap-à-l’Aigle in Northern Quebec, Canada. Our friends built a magnificent house there overlooking the St. Lawrence River. We held the ceremony and cocktail on the patio and the dinner and party were in a tent just beside the house. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Dominique: The whole day was memorable but I have to say that the ceremony was very special. My little brother officiated and we exchanged our own vows. In addition our mothers and siblings said a few words. All in all it we received a gigantic dose of love! Congratulations, Dominique!!
It's always a treat when something Saja gets photographed by Jose Villa. The way he captured the soft coloring of our soiree bridesmaids dresses is so gorgeous. Indulge in this amazing Ranch Wedding all the way from Sonoma, California with styles HB6622 and DU6556.
We hope that everyone had a lovely Labor Day Weekend! To get back into the swing of things, join us in swooning over Umeko's wedding on a remote island in Alaska- full of breathtaking scenery and rustic romance. She looks like an ethereal goddess in her HB6365 dress and we absolutely love the way it moves with the ocean breeze. Thank you so much to Lindsey Bolling for the truly inspired set of images. Saja: How did you meet? Umeko: We met as freshmen at the California Maritime Academy in 2003, both of us trying to get our USCG licenses. I was a Cali girl, and was very curious about this quiet red head from Alaska. Saja: How did he propose? Umeko: Ryan proposed on the downtown Seattle ferris wheel with his grandmothers beautiful antique engagement ring on Valentines Day, even though our trip to Seattle was so that he could do some USCG testing. I was surprised, and called my grandmother who loves him, right away. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Umeko: We chose Loring, AK- a remote community outside of Ketchikan. Kethchikan is already on an island but we wanted an even more private location. The historic significance and scenic beauty of Loring was just perfect, all guests had to take a 40 minute boat ride- which they loved! Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Umeko: All of it. Hitting the dock and realizing all the planning had come together. Looking up into the sky and thanking the clouds for keeping their rain in. Porpoises were jumping, eagles were everywhere and dogs were running free off the leash. With my wonderful guests all working to put it together, it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed? Umeko: Everything in the wedding was brought to the site by boat, and carried up the docks, and set up by every guest there. Our families made all the food, the decorations, the flowers, the arbor. A true Alaskan wedding where everyone does what they can. No caterers, just love. Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why? Umeko: They are all favorites, but the one I will get printed the largest frame is probably the one of our backs, on the rocks looking over the ocean. That photo captures the timeless landscape and the ocean that we both work, play and live on. Its a photo that I can easily see, in this giant universe, I am exactly where I need to be. Umeko said, "Neither a destination wedding, or an adventure wedding- it was truly our unique Alaskan wedding. Our special guests were the 89 year old grandparents on both sides, who had to take planes from Iowa and Cali and boat rides, and walk up slippery docks and steep hills to be here in our special location with us. I will always be grateful that they made the trip."
Congratulations to such a lovely bride and groom! We thank you for everything you do for our country and truly wish you all the best~ |
