Caroline & Gustav

We've had many brides get married in Sweden, and are truly blown away each and every time. There is something so serene about the setting that creates such a beautiful ambiance for weddings- and Caroline's is no exception. She looks stunning in our HB6565 dress with a low braided updo and hair accessories. From her handsome groom and adorable sons to the heartfelt music played by loved ones, this special day is surrounded with love. Thank you so much to Annie Grunditz who Caroline described as "a young woman with so much energy and ideas to make the emotions talk in the pictures," and we couldn't agree more! Congratulations again, Caroline and Gustav!!

Saja: How did you meet?

Caroline: We met at work. Went out for a drink in September 2008 and been a couple since

Saja: How did he propose?

Caroline
:
It was July 15, 2014. He had asked my parents to look after our kids during our holiday in France where we were staying for a 2 week vacation. Then he took me to the small village, Collioure near the Spanish boarder. He found a small alley with no other people besides us. He went down on his knees and proposed... I said Yes!

Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?

Caroline:

Our wedding took place at Vidbynäs Gård, a lovely mansion south of Stockholm. We chose that place for several reasons. We love food, and at Vidbynäs they really know how to create a dinner worth remembering. All our guest could sleep over since they have rooms for over 100 people. And the location of Vidbynäs is romantic, near a small lake called Turingen. We had our own wedding planner helping with everything, which was very much appreciated.

Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why?

Caroline:
Hmmm, I have 3 favorites. The first one is where we see our kids all dressed up. There is so much love in that picture. The second one is the first kiss after we see each other for the first time in our wedding attire.
Then there is this one, where Gustav is looking at me with so much love while we are listening to my niece singing "All of me" by John Legend.

Saja: Is there anything you can point out in your pictures that we might not have noticed?

Caroline
: During the ceremony our friend Elias was singing a song called “Värmlandsvisan” which is a song about the region were Gustav is born and raised. Also my niece only 15 years old was singing for us during the ceremony. All this wonderful songs were very emotional. So we ended by walking out to the song “Something new” by Axwell/Ingrosso – the picture where I raise my hand. We wanted our wedding to be a joyful day and I think that walking out to that song gave all our guest the feeling to relax and have fun!

Saja: What was your favorite part of the day?

Caroline:
Oh, this is a really hard question because the whole day was magic. But during the wedding cake my niece and the Best Man were singing some songs – and that was a lovely moment taking us away from dinner mood to a party mood.

Breanne & Zach

Breanne has one our favorite bridal shopping stories to date! She was trying on our HB6622 dress, when a tiny care drove by- not on the street, but the sidewalk right outside of our old Elizabeth St. location. With Breanne visiting from Texas and the rest of us quite curious, we all ran outside to check it out. Everyone in the streets quickly turned their attention from the car to Breanne and wouldn't stop commenting on what a gorgeous bride she was in the dress- a true NYC moment! We are so excited to see her wedding day come together so beautifully, and with so much love. The dress is even more stunning so many months later with flowers tucked into her hair and her handsome groom by her side! The ambiance at Tillery Park is so magical and we absolutely love the way it's styled with paper decor and that awesome rustic trailer, among the already gorgeous greenery there. Thank you so much to Rebecca Caridad of Manzanita Photo for such beautiful work and congratulations to such a lovely bride and her very lucky groom!

Saja: How did you meet?

Breanne: Zach and I met in 2003, during our freshman year in college.  Each of our roommates were cross country runners and we lived one floor apart in our freshman dorm.  We met early because of our roommates' connection, and we became truly great friends first.  We each thought one another had a wonderful energy that we couldn't resist!

Saja: How did he propose?

Breanne:
Zach proposed at the concert of one of our favorite local Austin bands, White Denim, at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2013.  He made sure that we had great spots standing with all of our friends near the stage, and when they played my favorite song, he bent down on one knee.  The crowd nearest us noticed and began forming a semicircle with us at the center.  When I turned around, Zach showed me signs he had laminated with his proposal message.  He presented my grandmother's engagement ring, I said yes, and we celebrated with our friends at the fest for the rest of the day!

Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?

Breanne:
We were married on April 18, 2015 in Tillery Park in Austin, TX.  We chose Tillery for a few reasons.  First, it was located on the east side of Austin, where we live.  Second, it is a beautiful outdoor plant nursery with an event space in the back.  Third, Tillery is an up-and-coming venue in Austin, so they allowed us a lot of creative freedom in their space.  The team at Tillery was so great to work with and our photos were stunning because of the backdrop.

Saja: Is there anything you can point out in the photos that we might not have noticed?

Breanne:
One thing that you can't notice in the photos is that I have a few poison ivy rashes on my arms. My cute pup, Flora (black and white rat terrier mix with the perky ears) rolled around in the plant on a walk a couple of weeks before the wedding, so I got it on my arms and neck in all the places I hug her!  My makeup artist, Katie from Method Salon in Austin, worked some foundation magic and you couldn't even tell!

One thing you will notice in the photos is my beautiful bouquet.  My photographer, Rebecca Caridad owner of Manzanita, did my bouquet and hair flowers (ceremony comb and reception crown), as well as the Zach's boutonniere.

A couple of other things you'll notice about the ceremony: one of our best friends married us and we included a lasso ceremony for when we read our vows to one another; our two best friends stood at the altar with us, but I also had my two sisters and Zach's two sisters as bridesmaids; my grandmother read lyrics from my favorite Spanish pop song in Spanish and English; a close friend did a theatrical reading of a scene from the TV show Scrubs.  We had two different bands perform that day (and another that night at the after-party) - Son Y No Son and The Lost Soul Revue. You can tell that music is a big part of our life here in Austin!

Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why?

Breanne:
I have so many favorite photos! I love the photo of Zach and I double-high fiving at the altar because we felt so great what we had just done.  I also love the portraits of us in front of greenhouse where we are laughing so much before the ceremony.  I love the photo of me kissing my grandmother on the cheek because she is my favorite person and lifetime role model.  I love the photo of Zach and I each grabbing a cocktail on our way into the venue because we had worked so hard to craft that moment and it turned out just how we imagined and more.  I love the photo of each of us dancing with our parents because my dad is swinging me just like when I was a kid.  Finally, I love the photo of me in my leather jacket in front of the lit up trees because I had been waiting for that moment since I purchased it at Aritzia in New York in 2013! I felt so cool, accomplished, and beautiful in that moment.

Breanne said, "One last note, our good friend Christina acted as our wedding planner throughout the planning process and on the wedding day, and we couldn't have thrown such a smashing event without her help. Also special thank you Pink Avocado for the amazing appetizers they created and the vegan menu, as well as my hair stylist, Amanda Eggiman who has worked with me since I moved to Austin in 2009."

Molly & Matt

From the first time we met Molly, she had such a contagious energy. She is one of the happiest and kindest brides we've come across and truly looks like a Hollywood movie star in HB6123 for her wedding day. We love the elegant and rustic feel of Greenpoint Loft, the perfect choice for this Brooklyn couple that live and fell in love there! Thank you so much to Couple of Dudes Photography for sharing, as well as Emily Henrietta for the florals and Ashley Jackson for wedding coordination! Congratulations again to Molly & Matt~
Picture
Saja: How did you meet?

Molly:
On OKCupid. I reached out to him. We realized we both lived in Greenpoint and met at a bar nearby both our apartments.

Picture

Molly: How did he propose?

Saja:
It was a complete surprise to me. It was early October last year and we were in Newport for the weekend borrowing a friend's house. We were out for walk at Sachuest Point. It's a rocky coast and I was looking at a horseshoe crab when Matt called me over to him. Then: proposal! I just keep saying, what? REALLY? ME? He took that as a yes which it was.

Saja: What was your favorite part of the day?

Molly:
My favorite part of the day was riding to the ceremony in the back of an old 50s Checker cab with Matt. I was so excited and nervous and happy. I knew it was going to be a great day for everyone. Then I loved seeing all our friends and family seated for the ceremony, waiting for us. I couldn't believe so many people came together for us. We didn't know if we would be able to get through the ceremony without breaking down but we did and it was very special and intimate.

Picture
Saja: Which is your favorite photo and why?

Molly:
My favorite photo is of us in the taxi together because the turquoise color of the cab seats complement the color of my dress and Matt's seat. The photo could be from any era and that's what I really liked about the dress. It was classic and elegant but light layers and draped top also made it a little whimsical and ethereal. It was modern without losing any bit of personality. It was timeless and to see it look so well in place in the back of a 50s Checker cab is proof of that.

Picture
Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose the space?

Molly:
We had our wedding at the Greenpoint Loft in Greenpoint Brooklyn. We chose it because it's a beautiful old industrial loft with gorgeous aged wood rafters, rustic wood floors, huge windows around three quarters of the space, vaulted skylights, a mezzanine, and a balcony that overlooks the East River to Manhattan and makes you feel like the Empire State Building is close enough to touch. My family and friends from the West Coast loved it. It's right in Greenpoint, where we met and was our first choice, as well as the most natural.

Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your photos that we may not have noticed?

Molly:
I think photos speak for themselves. The dress looks elegant and different in almost everyone but is always flattering. It never slipped which was a big concern of mine because I'm a big dancer.

Stacey & Cory wanted a New York City wedding with an amazing view, and Penthouse 808 in Long Island City was the perfect choice! She is effortlessly elegant in HB622 paired with our BT2000 belt. Thanks so much to Kelly Vasami for sharing, as well as the couple's videographer, Jason Wasserman. Congratulations to Stacey & Cory!
Picture
Saja: How did you meet?

Stacey: We worked at a summer camp in the Poconos together as counselors.
Picture
Saja: How did he propose?

Stacey: In Cabo, Cory arranged for a sketch artist to sketch us one night before dinner.  When he revealed the sketch it was picture of Cory on one knee proposing to me, when I turned around there he was in the same pose.

Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there?

Stacey: We got married at Penthouse 808 in Long Island City.  We were looking for a rooftop venue with a great view of the city, and that's exactly what we got!

Picture
Saja: What was your favorite part of the day?

Stacey:
It sounds so cheesy but the whole day was absolutely perfect! Everything went exactly as planned, I can't pick just one specific moment.
Picture
Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why?

Stacey
: All of them came out great thanks to our photographer Kelly Vasami, but I love the one of us jumping and also the one of us walking on the railroad tracks.  We took pictures in the park before the ceremony and ventured off with the photographer to find some pretty cool spots and views of NYC.
