Maureen: We met in New York :) I was a grad student at NYU and he was doing engineering research there.
Maureen: After my graduation, Yan took me to Blue Hill Stone Barns, a working farm/restaurant in Westchester, to celebrate. I love gardening and fancy myself a bit of an urban farmer (at least as much as a New York apartment will allow). He proposed in the vegetable patch. It was spring so all of the little vegetables were just coming in and the sun was setting over the Hudson. It was really gorgeous.
Maureen: We got married at a 1920s cottage on the cliffs over looking the ocean in San Diego, California. I grew up there and so the area is sentimental but also really beautiful. The whole event was outdoors under market lights. And the view of the sunset is incredible.
Maureen: Our bridal party was made up of just our siblings, my brother and two sisters and Yan's brother. We got all got ready at my grandparents house which was really special.
Maureen: My favorite is the one of Yan and I looking out over the ocean. I love the succulents growing wildly on the cliffs, the beautiful sunset, and of course the dress looks gorgeous!
Maureen: My family is mostly from San Diego, but Yan is from Australia. A lot of his friends and family made the big trip for our wedding. Also, our friends all came out from New York. Having all of the people you love and care about most, especially from so many different places, there to celebrate with us was so humbling and so much fun.
