We had the privilege on working with this bride and the groom! Sarah & Tim had such a loving energy about them from the moment we met them on a visit to the city. We are so excited to share their absolutely beautiful wedding day with you today. She is chic and elegant in HB6979 paired with a beaded hair clip (and we have to say Tim looks pretty dashing in his suit as well!) Huge thank you to Hoai-Huong Tran of Hopeless Wanderer Films for sharing your beautiful work and congratulations again to this truly lovely couple~

We fell in love with Blair right when she walked into our studio. She had a smile that could light up any room, she LOVED her dog (we are crazy dog people here) and she lived in Downtown JC. Her upbeat personality was something we always looked forward to during the fitting process and we now get to enjoy her wedding pictures. The pictures were taken by Love Em Photography and thank you so much for sharing them with us~ Saja: How did you meet? Blair: Brian and I met through a mutual friend. He worked with my friend, Pam, and we met a few times in group settings before actually ever dating. Saja: How did he propose? Blair: Bri proposed in our hotel room in London! I had studied abroad in London so the city holds a special place in my heart. We had gone to visit friends of of ours and so that I could show Brian “my” London, and he proposed on our first full day in the city, before a day of sightseeing that included a guided Jack the Ripper tour (so romantic haha). Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Blair: We got married in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. The ceremony took place at my childhood parish, St. Bernard Church. I had all of my sacraments (baptism, first communion, confirmation, and now marriage) and attended elementary and middle school at St. Bernard’s. The reception was also special because it was held at The University Club on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus, and I’m a Pitt alum. I got to celebrate my special day at two venues that hold significant meaning to me. Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why? Blair: I ADORE the one of Brian, me, and our wedding party into front of the iron gate. I’m laughing and Brian is looking at the camera like “help me!” It captures us as a couple, and it was a “blooper” moment that created a really great photo. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Blair: There are too many to choose from! But to name a few...•Prepping for the day at my parents’ home with my family and bridesmaids. We got our hair and makeup done in our pajamas while enjoying mimosas and loads of goodies. •The walk down the aisle and spotting Brian, who subtly teared up when he saw me. •The trolley ride between the church and the reception venue (complete with champagne). This was so fun and festive, and it was the transitional moment ofthe day; where the pressure of the ceremony was now complete, and the fun was just about to begin! •Dancing with friends and family at the reception •Having snacks and drinks with my parents at the after party Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed?
Blair: I think the photos do a great job of capturing this, but the day was just so joyful. From beginning to end, I felt so overwhelmed with joy. From an utterly romantic proposal, to enduring medical school together, we so enjoyed getting to know Catherine & Ben's modern love story. We love working with brides like Catherine- so down to earth and genuine. Her wedding in HB6565 at her parent's Massachusetts home is so charming and perfect for a couple that loves the outdoors as much as Catherine and Ben! These photos by Tiziana Rozzo capture the pure joy from start to finish. Congratulations again to these future doctors, we wish you all the best!! Saja: How did you meet? Catherine: Ben and I met while we were taking pre-medical classes together. We both decided to go back to school after being out of school for a while and now we’re in medical school together! Saja: How did he propose? Catherine: We live in Philadelphia and there is this awesome mural series that follows an elevated subway line in West Philadelphia called ‘A Love Letter for You’. The series of 50 murals have these sometimes sweet, sometimes cheeky phrases written on them, and all together they’re supposed to make up a love letter. We would catch glimpses of them during our daily life but never got to see them all, so Ben planned a day for us to hunt down all of the murals and take photos of them. When we got home he gave me a book that he had made of our relationship (photos, ticket stubs, maps) and asked me to write the rest of our story together. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Catherine: We got married at my parents’ home in Heath, Massachusetts, which is in the western corner of Massachusetts right up against the border of Vermont. We wanted to have a low-key, outdoor wedding and my parents’ home, which is a farm (although they’re not growing any crops of livestock) was perfect for us. We love being in the mountains and spending time outdoors and our visits to Heath have always been really special. It was also a great opportunity to share that little slice of the world that we love so much with our friends and relatives. My parents had just moved out there about a year ago and the farm had been neglected for years before, so we spent a lot of time up there doing manual labor to get the land ready. We have such an intimate connection with the place and it was so special to get married there. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Catherine: I thought I would feel very awkward standing up in front of everyone, but I loved the ceremony itself. Our pastor from Philadelphia traveled up to Massachusetts for the weekend to perform the ceremony so it was very personal, and being surrounded by loved ones as we exchanged our vows, laughed, and cried felt incredible. Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Catherine: I love the photos with the confetti, just because they look so full of joy and life. The happiness I felt walking back down the aisle at the end of our ceremony surrounded by our loved ones was the most fantastic feeling I could ever imagine. Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed?
Catherine: Apart from the catered dinner, which was amazing, we did almost everything for the wedding ourselves. I made our invitations and favors by hand, we made the wedding arch out of branches trimmed from trees on my parents’ land, we picked the flowers from gardens and nearby fields, the whole family worked together to arrange the flowers into vases and jars, and to set up the sound system and decorations. Choosing and doing so much of the wedding preparation ourselves was a lot of work, but it meant that in the end our whole day was so personal and felt completely like ‘us’. It's Wedding Wednesday and we have some truly breathtaking inspiration for bohemian brides! The dreamy way Lea Nicole Photography captures light combined with the floral talents of Thorne & Thistle come together so beautifully for this styled elopement shoot. With billowed sleeves and intricate embroidery, LD6001 is such an elegant choice and we love styling with a leafy floral crown. Thank you to such a talented team for this romantic inspiration!!
We absolutely love getting pictures from Kreativ Wedding Photography in Germany. There is such an elegant, brightness to the moments they capture, that it makes it difficult to choose between them! Christina & Sebastian's simple and colorful wedding in the sweet village of Solingen is the perfect example! She is beaming in our HB6979 from Victoria Rüsche, surrounded by pure love and joy on her special day. Thank you so much for sharing and many congratulations to Christina & Sebastian!
We've had many brides get married in Sweden, and are truly blown away each and every time. There is something so serene about the setting that creates such a beautiful ambiance for weddings- and Caroline's is no exception. She looks stunning in our HB6565 dress with a low braided updo and hair accessories. From her handsome groom and adorable sons to the heartfelt music played by loved ones, this special day is surrounded with love. Thank you so much to Annie Grunditz who Caroline described as "a young woman with so much energy and ideas to make the emotions talk in the pictures," and we couldn't agree more! Congratulations again, Caroline and Gustav!! Saja: How did you meet? Caroline: We met at work. Went out for a drink in September 2008 and been a couple since Saja: How did he propose? Caroline: It was July 15, 2014. He had asked my parents to look after our kids during our holiday in France where we were staying for a 2 week vacation. Then he took me to the small village, Collioure near the Spanish boarder. He found a small alley with no other people besides us. He went down on his knees and proposed... I said Yes! Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Caroline: Our wedding took place at Vidbynäs Gård, a lovely mansion south of Stockholm. We chose that place for several reasons. We love food, and at Vidbynäs they really know how to create a dinner worth remembering. All our guest could sleep over since they have rooms for over 100 people. And the location of Vidbynäs is romantic, near a small lake called Turingen. We had our own wedding planner helping with everything, which was very much appreciated. Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why? Caroline: Hmmm, I have 3 favorites. The first one is where we see our kids all dressed up. There is so much love in that picture. The second one is the first kiss after we see each other for the first time in our wedding attire. Then there is this one, where Gustav is looking at me with so much love while we are listening to my niece singing "All of me" by John Legend. Saja: Is there anything you can point out in your pictures that we might not have noticed? Caroline: During the ceremony our friend Elias was singing a song called “Värmlandsvisan” which is a song about the region were Gustav is born and raised. Also my niece only 15 years old was singing for us during the ceremony. All this wonderful songs were very emotional. So we ended by walking out to the song “Something new” by Axwell/Ingrosso – the picture where I raise my hand. We wanted our wedding to be a joyful day and I think that walking out to that song gave all our guest the feeling to relax and have fun! Saja: What was your favorite part of the day?
Caroline: Oh, this is a really hard question because the whole day was magic. But during the wedding cake my niece and the Best Man were singing some songs – and that was a lovely moment taking us away from dinner mood to a party mood. Breanne has one our favorite bridal shopping stories to date! She was trying on our HB6622 dress, when a tiny care drove by- not on the street, but the sidewalk right outside of our old Elizabeth St. location. With Breanne visiting from Texas and the rest of us quite curious, we all ran outside to check it out. Everyone in the streets quickly turned their attention from the car to Breanne and wouldn't stop commenting on what a gorgeous bride she was in the dress- a true NYC moment! We are so excited to see her wedding day come together so beautifully, and with so much love. The dress is even more stunning so many months later with flowers tucked into her hair and her handsome groom by her side! The ambiance at Tillery Park is so magical and we absolutely love the way it's styled with paper decor and that awesome rustic trailer, among the already gorgeous greenery there. Thank you so much to Rebecca Caridad of Manzanita Photo for such beautiful work and congratulations to such a lovely bride and her very lucky groom! Saja: How did you meet? Breanne: Zach and I met in 2003, during our freshman year in college. Each of our roommates were cross country runners and we lived one floor apart in our freshman dorm. We met early because of our roommates' connection, and we became truly great friends first. We each thought one another had a wonderful energy that we couldn't resist! Saja: How did he propose? Breanne: Zach proposed at the concert of one of our favorite local Austin bands, White Denim, at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2013. He made sure that we had great spots standing with all of our friends near the stage, and when they played my favorite song, he bent down on one knee. The crowd nearest us noticed and began forming a semicircle with us at the center. When I turned around, Zach showed me signs he had laminated with his proposal message. He presented my grandmother's engagement ring, I said yes, and we celebrated with our friends at the fest for the rest of the day! Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Breanne: We were married on April 18, 2015 in Tillery Park in Austin, TX. We chose Tillery for a few reasons. First, it was located on the east side of Austin, where we live. Second, it is a beautiful outdoor plant nursery with an event space in the back. Third, Tillery is an up-and-coming venue in Austin, so they allowed us a lot of creative freedom in their space. The team at Tillery was so great to work with and our photos were stunning because of the backdrop. Saja: Is there anything you can point out in the photos that we might not have noticed? Breanne: One thing that you can't notice in the photos is that I have a few poison ivy rashes on my arms. My cute pup, Flora (black and white rat terrier mix with the perky ears) rolled around in the plant on a walk a couple of weeks before the wedding, so I got it on my arms and neck in all the places I hug her! My makeup artist, Katie from Method Salon in Austin, worked some foundation magic and you couldn't even tell! One thing you will notice in the photos is my beautiful bouquet. My photographer, Rebecca Caridad owner of Manzanita, did my bouquet and hair flowers (ceremony comb and reception crown), as well as the Zach's boutonniere. A couple of other things you'll notice about the ceremony: one of our best friends married us and we included a lasso ceremony for when we read our vows to one another; our two best friends stood at the altar with us, but I also had my two sisters and Zach's two sisters as bridesmaids; my grandmother read lyrics from my favorite Spanish pop song in Spanish and English; a close friend did a theatrical reading of a scene from the TV show Scrubs. We had two different bands perform that day (and another that night at the after-party) - Son Y No Son and The Lost Soul Revue. You can tell that music is a big part of our life here in Austin! Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why? Breanne: I have so many favorite photos! I love the photo of Zach and I double-high fiving at the altar because we felt so great what we had just done. I also love the portraits of us in front of greenhouse where we are laughing so much before the ceremony. I love the photo of me kissing my grandmother on the cheek because she is my favorite person and lifetime role model. I love the photo of Zach and I each grabbing a cocktail on our way into the venue because we had worked so hard to craft that moment and it turned out just how we imagined and more. I love the photo of each of us dancing with our parents because my dad is swinging me just like when I was a kid. Finally, I love the photo of me in my leather jacket in front of the lit up trees because I had been waiting for that moment since I purchased it at Aritzia in New York in 2013! I felt so cool, accomplished, and beautiful in that moment. Breanne said, "One last note, our good friend Christina acted as our wedding planner throughout the planning process and on the wedding day, and we couldn't have thrown such a smashing event without her help. Also special thank you Pink Avocado for the amazing appetizers they created and the vegan menu, as well as my hair stylist, Amanda Eggiman who has worked with me since I moved to Austin in 2009."

She is one of the happiest and kindest brides we've come across and truly looks like a Hollywood movie star in HB6123 for her wedding day. We love the elegant and rustic feel of Greenpoint Loft, the perfect choice for this Brooklyn couple that live and fell in love there! Thank you so much to Couple of Dudes Photography for sharing, as well as Emily Henrietta for the florals and Ashley Jackson for wedding coordination! Congratulations again to Molly & Matt~ Saja: How did you meet? Molly: On OKCupid. I reached out to him. We realized we both lived in Greenpoint and met at a bar nearby both our apartments. Molly: How did he propose? Saja: It was a complete surprise to me. It was early October last year and we were in Newport for the weekend borrowing a friend's house. We were out for walk at Sachuest Point. It's a rocky coast and I was looking at a horseshoe crab when Matt called me over to him. Then: proposal! I just keep saying, what? REALLY? ME? He took that as a yes which it was. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Molly: My favorite part of the day was riding to the ceremony in the back of an old 50s Checker cab with Matt. I was so excited and nervous and happy. I knew it was going to be a great day for everyone. Then I loved seeing all our friends and family seated for the ceremony, waiting for us. I couldn't believe so many people came together for us. We didn't know if we would be able to get through the ceremony without breaking down but we did and it was very special and intimate. Saja: Which is your favorite photo and why? Molly: My favorite photo is of us in the taxi together because the turquoise color of the cab seats complement the color of my dress and Matt's seat. The photo could be from any era and that's what I really liked about the dress. It was classic and elegant but light layers and draped top also made it a little whimsical and ethereal. It was modern without losing any bit of personality. It was timeless and to see it look so well in place in the back of a 50s Checker cab is proof of that. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose the space? Molly: We had our wedding at the Greenpoint Loft in Greenpoint Brooklyn. We chose it because it's a beautiful old industrial loft with gorgeous aged wood rafters, rustic wood floors, huge windows around three quarters of the space, vaulted skylights, a mezzanine, and a balcony that overlooks the East River to Manhattan and makes you feel like the Empire State Building is close enough to touch. My family and friends from the West Coast loved it. It's right in Greenpoint, where we met and was our first choice, as well as the most natural. Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your photos that we may not have noticed?
Molly: I think photos speak for themselves. The dress looks elegant and different in almost everyone but is always flattering. It never slipped which was a big concern of mine because I'm a big dancer. Stacey & Cory wanted a New York City wedding with an amazing view, and Penthouse 808 in Long Island City was the perfect choice! She is effortlessly elegant in HB622 paired with our BT2000 belt. Thanks so much to Kelly Vasami for sharing, as well as the couple's videographer, Jason Wasserman. Congratulations to Stacey & Cory! Saja: How did you meet? Stacey: We worked at a summer camp in the Poconos together as counselors. Saja: How did he propose? Stacey: In Cabo, Cory arranged for a sketch artist to sketch us one night before dinner. When he revealed the sketch it was picture of Cory on one knee proposing to me, when I turned around there he was in the same pose. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Stacey: We got married at Penthouse 808 in Long Island City. We were looking for a rooftop venue with a great view of the city, and that's exactly what we got! Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Stacey: It sounds so cheesy but the whole day was absolutely perfect! Everything went exactly as planned, I can't pick just one specific moment. Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why?
Stacey: All of them came out great thanks to our photographer Kelly Vasami, but I love the one of us jumping and also the one of us walking on the railroad tracks. We took pictures in the park before the ceremony and ventured off with the photographer to find some pretty cool spots and views of NYC. Saskia & Daniel's wedding at a family home on Lake Skaneateles is such a beautiful way to start the week! She is stunning wearing HB6556 with a simple twist-tie sash and gentle bits of baby's breath flowers tucked throughout her hair. Each part of this wedding, from the intimate lakeside ceremony to the porch dance party is full of love and joy. Thank you so much to Craig Griffin Photography for allowing us to take part in this couple's very special day! Congratulations again to Saskia & Daniel. Saja: How did you meet? Saskia: We met in college at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania (if you want more detail about that...our (well dressed) friend wearing the suspenders in the wedding photos introduced us. He recruited Dan to be a Cub Scout leader in the town where our school was and I was in charge of youth mentoring projects in our university’s community service office and on a weekend training retreat for all mentors, Dan asked me out) Saja: How did he propose? Saskia: I came home from work on a regular Tuesday evening, a bit sweaty and flustered from my long bike commute home. Dan had cleaned and was cooking dinner which were pretty usual but as I tried to cool down he told me he had a gift for me. It was a handmade journal and in the first page he had written me a note about all the highlights ups and downs we had experienced over the years we have known each other and how he was excited for all the things to come together. And when I turned the next page, he had written ‘Will you marry me?’ and cut a square into several layers of the paper where the ring (his great great aunt’s) was inside. After a moment of shock, I of course said yes! We wrote our vows in that same journal and read from it during our wedding ceremony. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Saskia: Dan’s family lakehouse on Lake Skaneateles, NY (Finger Lakes). The house was built by Dan’s great great grandparents in the early 1900’s so lots of family and historical significance there. And it’s been preserved to look exactly the way it did when it was originally built. Dan grew up going there every summer and we’ve been going there together since we started dating. It’s beautiful and an incredibly special place to us both. Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed? Saskia: We had a very small (16 people total) Quaker style wedding which meant that it began with a period of sitting in silence and everyone participates in the ceremony by sharing a text (something they wrote, a poem, a blessing, song lyrics) and also a specially made wedding certificate that everyone signs. The photos where we are reading a text and there is a speaker is a message from my grandmas back in the Netherlands (she is 92 and could not fly over) that my friends recorded as a surprise and played (and handed out translations) during the sharing portion of the ceremony. Saskia continued, "The photos taken at the bridge and also in the rocking chairs in front of the fireplace are recreations of some old photos from the early 1900’s of Dan’s relatives taken in the same spots." Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why? Saskia: So many amazing ones but I think the one of us down by the lake holding sparklers is my favorite. There is just so much joy captured in the entire frame of that photo. The one of us kissing (with me on my tippy toes and surrounded by this circle of loved ones) is a close second. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Saskia: Honestly the whole day and night were amazing. But the ceremony was just incredibly emotional and moving not just Dan and I reading our own written vows but all the incredible things that our friends and families shared. Dancing on the porch was a close second favorite part. Because it was an intimate group of people we are closest with and because we spent 4 days together up at the lake house everyone was very well acquainted with each other and I really felt and saw that while we were dancing. Saskia said, "Neither Dan nor I had had given much thought to our wedding day or envisioned it in great detail before we got engaged and when we were planning it we knew it would be fun and meaningful, but while it was happening and also now, we both say that it was truly one of the happiest days of our lives....so far :)"
When Diana and Matt found out they were moving to California, they decided on a wedding in Brooklyn- an ode to the place they fell in love and a final goodbye to New York! With just 8 weeks to make it happen, the couple called upon some of their favorite local vendors to create an intimate neighborhood affair and the result is beautiful!! Diana looks stunning in our HB6633 and CR2000 belt- a perfect fit for their cozy celebration at ICI restaurant in Fort Greene. Thank you so much to Karen Kristian for such amazing work and congratulations again to Diana & Matt (best of luck on the west coast!) Saja: How did you meet? Diana: We met through friends. My best friend and Matt's brother were interning together and became friends and that's how we were introduced. The firs time we met was over brunch at Essex in the Lower East Side during Memorial Day weekend five years ago! Saja: How did he propose? Diana: We were at Storm King Sculpture Park in the Hudson Valley. It is one of the most unique places either of us has ever been to and we used to love taking day trips out of the city to go up there. It was Spring and it was the first really nice, warm day of the year and we decided to take a trip up. Matt had to wait all day for the perfect moment to propose, he almost gave up because we kept getting interrupted or the moment wasn't right. Some of our friends also happened to be headed there that day and so we ended up meeting up with them which was fun to surprise them with the news! Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Diana: We had our wedding at ICI restaurant in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. It's about 5 minute walk down the street from our old apartment and a place we walked by all the time. It's in an old brownstone with a small yard, just like the apartment we were living in. We loved the idea of doing it in our beloved neighborhood and keeping everything super local. We used a florist, Saffron, in the neighborhood that we LOVE as well. They own a small boutique/shop in Ft Greene that we would always stop into any time we needed gifts or flowers or were just passing by. We had sort of become friends with the owners so it was special to have them do our flowers. Diana said, "We just recently left NY to move to LA. When we found out we were moving, we decided we wanted to get married in NY, where we met and where our life and friends were, thinking it would be part celebration and part goodbye party and just a nice way to close that huge chapter in our lives. We planned the wedding in about 8 weeks, so ICI was actually one of the only venues we could book on such short notice! We originally wanted to have a Saturday wedding but given our compressed timeline it just didn't work out...so we ended up with a Sunday wedding, and somehow all the stars aligned and we got married on our engagement anniversary, it was totally unplanned but that's just how the dates worked out! Our wedding date is also sandwiched by our mothers' birthdays. Matt's mom's birthday was the day before our wedding, my mom's birthday was the day after. As you can imagine, it was a really happy weekend!!" Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Diana: The vows and the speeches were probably the most emotional and I loved them. But I also loved dinner, and getting up and visiting all our tables and seeing everyone! Things were relaxed but not too crazy yet and the light in the garden was magical. I loved it all though- it really does go by so fast, just like everyone says! Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why? Diana: I love some of the dancing photos because you can see how much fun everyone is having, we didn't even have a DJ, just an ipad! But I actually really love the photos of the paper cranes we strung up. They were strung into garlands across the entry into the back garden where our ceremony was held. Several of my closest girlfriends decided to take that on. They spent hours folding paper cranes and then set them up for the wedding. It was such a generous and beautiful gesture. I was really moved by their dedication and enthusiasm. Lucky me to be so loved! Diana said, "Choosing a dress on such short notice was really stressful (I guess I brought it on myself!). We planned the wedding in about 8 weeks and before we decided that, I had no idea that many places can't even order you a dress in that short of a time frame! I was so naive about wedding dress shopping! I went to so many places where the people didn't seem to really have an opinion or care, or they just wanted to move you along for the next appointment. or they just didn't really seem to get me or my style. It was so different at Saja. I felt like I had known you guys for years and it really felt like you two were fairy godmothers taking care of me and helping me along with everything from choosing what to do, what strapless bra to get, or helping fix the alterations! I truly appreciated the honesty too! The dress ended up being perfect for the venue too. It really captured the spirit of the venue and our wedding, simple and sweet. Thank you so much again for your help and care...It truly means so much to me!" Vendors:
Photographer: Karen Kristian Flowers: Saffron Hair and Make-Up: Ami Chibana Cupcakes/Cake: Baked NYC Venue/restaurant: ICI Brooklyn Elizabeth & Edward's wedding in the English countryside is charming, relaxed and elegant. We absolutely loved working with Lizzy, from her first visit all the way from the UK with her mom to styling her bridesmaid in a stillwater Saja bridesmaids dress. We couldn't be happier to have taken part in her special day! She is effortlessly beautiful in our HB6565 dress and BT2000 belt, styled with a low, twisted updo and delicate blooms. Thank you so much to Lisa & Scott of Lisa Dawn Photography for sharing, and to Lizzy for sharing such a wonderful Modern Love Story with us! Enjoy~ Lizzy shared, "Edward and I first met 17 years ago at school (our Save the Date card was taken from the school photograph), we then 'followed' each other to the same university and the same company for work, but we did not reconnect and start going out until 2011.....good things come to those who wait! We were married in a 13th Century church in the little village of Tollard Royal in Wiltshire and then had our reception at Larmer Tree Gardens." She said, "My bridesmaid Anca wore one of your dresses in the gorgeous Stillwater - we loved the colour of the dress so much we chose blue as the main colour for the wedding. My flower girl, Charlotte, wore a Liberty material dress made by my mother. I loved your dress because it was so feminine and lightweight, allowing a bride to look both beautiful and relaxed." Congratulations again to Lizzy & Edward, we wish you all the very best~
Once in a while we come across a wedding that is so special, it truly touches our hearts. Carolyn and her bridal party were a very special bunch. The love and support they shared were limitless. The bride wore our RM6325 and her bridesmaids wore our HB6622 in Dawn. The wedding took place at the groom's grandparents' farm in Hassla Sweden. Needless to say it's a magical place... We thank Carolyn and David for sharing their wedding pictures with us and their talented photographer Sara Lejon for capturing the moments. We wish them many magical moments like those shared on their wedding day, for years to come... Saja: How did you meet? Carolyn: We met at Printed Matter, NY’s oldest nonprofit dedicated to artists’ publications. I was working there and we were having a book launch for one of the many books David has published. One of the only rules about book launches was no red wine and David walked in carry a case of red wine. I thought he was so cute and was so afraid to tell him he had to return it. He then added me to his mailing list and I followed (stalked) his art career for years. Then finally after many missed chances, a few years later we started dating. Saja: How did he propose? Carolyn: We were visiting David’s family in Sweden and he took me on a long ferry ride through the Archipelago to the most beautiful island called Sandhamn. I was laying on the rocks looking out at the water/closing my eyes and taking it all in, and David asked me if I wanted a Starburst (the candy!). I said no and then I opened my eyes and my mom’s/great grandmother’s engagement ring was in front of me. I turned around and he asked me to marry him while chewing his strawberry Starburst. It was perfect! And to this day the smell of strawberry candy makes me think of his proposal. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Carolyn: The wedding took place on his grandparents’ farm, Hassla in Sweden. We did it in their backyard and it was a nice small, intimate affair. Hassla has always been a special place for David ever since he was a small child. He even named his publishing press after it. We also really wanted his grandparents to be able to be there so it just made perfect sense that we do it on their farm. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Why? Carolyn: My favorite part of the day was our first dance. I am a ballet dancer and we danced to Bill Withers, Lovely Day. It was just a ton of fun and also romantic. He has goofy moves that I adore. Saja: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed? Carolyn: Is there anything you can point out about your pictures that we might not have noticed?I entrusted the most amazing wedding planner who was able to figure out my vision from my babbling emails and plan the whole wedding from across the ocean. She picked just the right people for hair/makeup, photography, food. I didn’t meet anyone until we arrived and it just all felt right. Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Carolyn: All of them. But I really love the one where he is feeding me cake. Saja: Thanks so much, Carolyn! Is there anything else you would like to share?
Carolyn: The farm was the starting point for everything to take off and when I saw my dress on your website I just knew it was the one. It was my first dress to ever try on and I wish I could still wear it every day. I felt like a bohemian princess in it. It was perfect. So perfect that David, who said he wouldn’t cry, cried as soon as he saw it. It was a dream! Emma and Sam's wedding is intimate, charming and so full of joy. Emma is flawlessly elegant in DL6055, surrounded by family, friends and a breathtaking mountain backdrop. We love the rustic styling of the day with sunflowers mixed among bright summer blooms and lights strung through the teepees at the venue. Thank you so much to Page Bertelson and Paige Green of Two Pages Photography for sharing such beautiful work and congratulations again to Emma, Sam (and their pup too!)
Jessica & David's wedding alongside their beautiful baby girl, Maya is truly out of a storybook. She is an ethereal vision in our HB6622 dress through the magical Cape Ann woodlands. Thank you so much to VD Photography and to Jessica for sharing such a beautiful Modern Love Story with us! Enjoy~ Jessica told, "We met five years ago in the capital city of Zimbabwe in southern Africa. It was the 2010 Operation of Hope facial reconstructive medical mission. I was a CNN journalist who filmed/produced a half-hour special on this medical mission for CNN's Inside Africa the year before. I was following up on the story and also volunteering. I brought my mother along because she is a nurse and always wanted to understand why I love Africa so much. David was the UC Davis chief surgical resident chosen for the trip. This was his first Op of Hope mission and time in Zimbabwe. My mother got to know David before I did. It wasn't until the last night of that trip when David and I met... and of all places in Africa, on a dance floor! We became cross continental boyfriend and girlfriend for a couple years as I was based in Atlanta and he was living in California but we always had Africa! We return every year on that medical mission and during April 2014's mission in Zimbabwe David proposed... We had our wedding last June at the Essex Retreat in Cape Ann, Massachusetts. It is a magical setting. One that reminds me of author J.M. Barrie’s “Neverland.” Like Peter-Pan, David and I have always found our happy place in nature. A wedding ceremony amongst the trees we thought would symbolize our intertwined lives, our growing bond and our unconditional love (rain or shine)!!! And it Shined!! The forecast predicted rain but it turned out to be such a beautiful day. I'd like to think my father who passed away many years ago was looking down from above and had something to do with that gorgeous sky. Feeling the suns warmth I felt like I could feel my dads warmth. I could see him smiling! My nephew walked me down the aisle. He was so concerned since I didn't have a father. I was so honored and proud to have him by my side. He is the sweetest and most kindhearted teenager I have ever met. There was another special person at our wedding and that was Maya, our six month old daughter. Since we are over 35 we didn't want to wait to start a family. Then two days before Christmas we were blessed with a healthy little girl! She was made in Zimbabwe with love and is the love of our lives...So now we are not only a happily married couple, we are a very happy family!!!"
With incredible light through the woodsy surroundings and amazing wooden beams, Elena & Jason's wedding has such pretty, rustic simplicity. She is so elegantly styled in our HB6285 dress with a twist-tie sash and we are so happy to see her special day come together so beautifully! Huge thank you to Lauren and Andy at Barefeet Studio for sharing their amazing work! Congratulations again to Elena & Jason~
Anne sent us these beautiful shots from her wedding in France in our HB6622 dress. We love all the soft tones of her wedding including the beautiful venue. We always knew she was beautiful but to see her on her wedding day made us go 'ooh-la-la!'
One of best part of our jobs is that we get to work with brides all over the world. Rebecca found us online and ordered our SH6169 dress online all the way from Switzerland. It's extra special when we get to see the pictures of brides who we haven't had a pleasure to meet in person. Thank you Rebecca!
Thanks to very talented Kate Crabtree, we are able to share these amazing pictures from Arielle & Jesse's wedding at Peaks Island Maine wedding. No wonder these pictures were not only featured on Seacoast Weddings but also graced the cover! Arielle looks stunning in our HB6365 wedding dress. The beautiful floral arrangements were created by Blue Fern Designs.
Lauren and Adam's Hudson Valley Wedding is such a beautiful way to start the week! We love the way she styled her RC6257 dress with a low up-do and soft flowers. We are so happy to see all the details of Lauren's special day come together so beautifully against the picturesque backdrop in upstate NY. Thank you so much to Keira Lemonis for sharing and to the rest of the amazing vendors! Many congratulations to Lauren and Adam, we wish you the very best!! Saja: How did you meet? Lauren: We met at a NYC bar on karaoke night. Saja: How did he propose? Lauren: Adam proposed while we were hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It was a few days after Christmas; the woods were covered with snow and the sun was shining. It was a beautiful backdrop. We then went zip lining through a ski mountain which was exhilarating! Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Lauren: We were married at The Hill, a private residence and horse farm in Hudson, NY. When we first started looking at venues, we knew we wanted somewhere a bit rustic where our guests could enjoy nature and a weekend away. We’ve spent time in the Hudson Valley over the years and got to know the area. We loved The Hill’s beautiful Palladian barn, the secluded location, and sprawling grounds. It’s a beautiful venue, and the owners and their staff were very helpful during the planning process. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Lauren: The ceremony. We were married outside on the lawn with the Catskills mountains in the background. Our good friend Laura was our officiant and did a great job! Even though we were surrounded by our family & friends, for me it felt like just us standing up there. I remember looking at Adam during the long walk to the ceremony and both of us having huge smiles on our faces. Saja: Is there anything about the wedding day you can point out that we might not have noticed? Lauren: We and our families did a lot of DIY projects. Adam made the wooden table numbers & signs, and I did the chalkboard signs. Adam’s aunt did the amazing bunting strung across the ceiling of the barn. She must have cut out hundreds of triangles by hand! Also, towards the end of the cocktail hour it started raining and then it poured all night! Good luck, right? We’re really grateful we were able to have our ceremony and photos taken outdoors before the weather turned. Lauren said, "I absolutely loved my dress! It was so comfortable and flattering. I received multiple compliments from guests that it was “very me,” which I think says a lot. I had a great experience working with the Saja team and couldn’t have imagined a more perfect dress to wear on my wedding day." Vendors:

Anna was such an incredibly lovely bride to work with. She and her mom brought smiles to our studio with each and every visit! We love the flow of HB6622 paired with the OY1000 belt for her laid back, Brooklyn wedding at one of our favorite venues, the Green Building. Thank you so much to Max Flatow for sharing it with us and congratulations to a lovely bride, and very lucky groom! Saja: How did you meet? Anna: Daniel and I have known each other for nearly our entire lives. While our parents have been friends for 20 years, we didn't notice each other until college. During my freshman year, Daniel was living in Germany. We started talking one day, and emailed every day after that. At the end of the spring semester, I hopped a plane and flew to Munich for our first date. An hour into our date, we both knew that we were in love and this was it. Saja: How did he propose? Anna: While we knew instantly that we were going to be a serious thing, getting engaged took much longer. I graduated college, we both attended and graduated from graduate school, moved in together, and started our life. Eight years later, we started talking about getting married, but with no firm plans. Last summer (August 2014) while on vacation, I turned to Daniel and said that I was serious about wanting to get married. We were sitting on a rocky beach in Ireland, over looking the Atlantic ocean, and we finally took time to talk about this. Neither of us could see any reason to not get married now, and I asked again. This time, Daniel said, ok, lets do this. Saja: Where did the wedding take place? What made you choose there? Anna: Our ceremony took place at Park Slope Jewish Center (PSJC) in Brooklyn. We both grew up there (that is how our parents became friends), were bar and bat mitzvahed there, and felt that it was our second home. We immediately knew that we had to be married there. It was such a meaningful space for us previously, but is even more meaningful for us now. Our reception was at the Green Building (also Brooklyn). After touring dozens of venue options, we saw the Green Building and fell in love. The relaxed, fun, and Brooklyn vibe appealed to us instantly. Saja: What was your favorite part of the day? Why? Anna: My favorite part of the day was the bedeken. This is a traditional Jewish ceremony where the groom is danced in by both families to see the bride and make sure that she is the right woman. Everyone was so happy that our wedding was finally here, there wasn't a dry eye in the entire room. Seeing Dan come in laughing, dancing, and singing with our fathers, brothers, cousins, and friends was spectacular. I was sitting with our mothers, sisters (in-laws too), cousins, and friends, and we could hear them coming from the street through the garden, into the building. As soon as we met eyes, we both started crying and laughing simultaneously and felt the love and joy that surrounded us. Saja: Which of the photos is your favorite? Why?
Anna: I have a couple favorite photos. One of me wiping a tear away while sitting is from the bedeken. There are couple photos of dancing during our hora which show how much fun we were all having, especially one with me and my dad which shows the fluidity of the dress really well. |
